Employment and Apprenticeships
We are always looking for talented individuals with diverse skills. Our primary need is for people with strong furniture making, gold leafing, veneering, finishing or other specialized skills. Our method of employment is usually on a per project basis: for instance, we might hire someone to gold leaf parts of a cabinet, or to finish a library. Ideally, we'd like to have a few talented builders working full time at the shop. Currently we are not looking for individuals whose primary experience is in cabinetry (box builders). You may email a resume and photos of your work, but you will need to provide a brief demonstration of your skills.
We are also accepting apprentices of all skill levels for training in furniture design and construction. Your compensation will be knowledge and skill. We do not have a strict program; we offer hands-on learning in many subjects at once - on-the-job training of a kind. You may come and go as you like, however you will get out of it what you put into it. Three hours per week won't do much for you.
